Jewish communities across our region will be celebrating Tu Bishvat from sundown this Sunday, February 9th, until sundown on Monday, February 10th, appreciating the gifts of fruit trees and the rhythms of our natural world.
Right now, this Jewish ecological holiday comes at an auspicious moment, when Marylanders have timely opportunities to speak out for cleaner power and climate justice in our state.
During the 2020 legislative session now underway, in partnership with the Maryland Climate Coalition, we’re speaking out for a plan that responsibly guides us off of coal by 2025 and ensures our workers and impacted communities are making decisions about how to thrive in a clean energy economy.
Interfaith Power & Light has created signs for download so that your Tu Bishvat events in Maryland can include an act of environmental advocacy: taking a group photo that speaks out to say that 6 coal-burning plants in Maryland is #6toomany!
